C1 Licence Acquisition
What is a C1 vehicle?
These are vehicles that weigh more than 3.5 tonnes but do not exceed 7.5 tonnes Gross Vehicle Weight (G.V.W.). A trailer may be towed as long as it does not exceed 750 KG Gross Vehicle Weight (G.V.W.).
What do I need to do to get my C1 Licence?
There are several stages to obtaining the C1 accreditation on your Driving Licence and as guide this is general process below:

Ensure that you have the 'provisional' C1 entitlement

Complete forms D2 & D4

Complete the DVSA driver medical

Complete on-line training and tests; parts 1 & 2

Complete practical training and tests; parts 3 & 4
The above is a guide only as the RED Training bookings team will assist every driver through every stage of the process including providing all necessary forms, booking a local medical, providing access to all online training materials, booking theory tests, arranging for practical training and booking practical tests 3 & 4.
